We differentiate the different quality levels of each product and have you decide which one will be right for you and your budget. Then we will perform the correct installation in order to promote longevity. The use of proper caulking, nails or screws can make the difference in how long it will last. One of our specially trained professionals looks forward to having the opportunity to consult with you on your next project. Rotted Wood Replacement(Slide Show)Homeowners in the New England region are faced with unexpected repairs on the exterior trim of their homes, mostly due to the harsh weather this area receives. Rotted or decaying wood seems to be more prevalent than ever before. This condition can also be caused by an improper installation and the use of lower grade building materials such as finger jointed pine trim. In order to prevent or forgo this problem from happening, several conditions must be adhered to for the replacement of a trim board. A grade one (clear pre-primed) or a grade two (non-finger jointed pre-primed) piece of lumber must be supplied. The board should be installed with galvanized or stainless steel nails in order to prevent early corrosion. All nails should have a head to them in order to prevent the board from pulling away from the substrate due to the radical change of temperature through out the seasons. A high grade caulking with an acrylic / silicone mixture should be applied to any of the trim board abutments. The board should then be re-primed over the factory primer for added insurance as well as creating a proper foundation for the top coat on the new nails and caulking. Priming the end grain where the board has been cut is perhaps the most important of the process. One or two coats of a high quality 100% acrylic latex paint should then be applied as the final layer of protection. Window/ Door Replacement(Slide Show)Due to the many selections in the marketplace, choosing the proper window or door for your home can be challenging and time consuming. In the last decade, window and door companies have been striving to produce products that are not only more attractive but more energy efficient. Through our own research and feedback we have narrowed the search down to what we feel are the top four; Pella, Therma-Tru, Andersen and Harvey. One of our expert estimators can provide you with samples or brochures of the different product lines for each brand of window or door to help assist you in your selection. We also install several brands of storm doors and garage doors. One of our estimators can provide you with a brochure or website or lead you to the nearest showroom for your selection process. Decorative Moldings - Pediments (Fypon, PVC Composite/ Wood), Columns, Shutters(Slide Show)Many of us are not satisfied with the look of our homes. Some examples of increasing the value and beauty of a home include installing window or door pediments to the top of your existing windows and doors, adding dentil or crown molding to the underside of the soffit boards, installing fluted moldings to entry door casings and/or corner boards, installing shutters to the windows, including hinging hardwood if desired, adding shadow boxes below windows or something more impressive such as constructing a portico with fluted columns around a main entry door. Many of these building materials are offered in PVC or fiberglass composite which will far outlast any wood product available to us. Ask one of our estimators to show you one of our catalogs or samples in order to help you with your selection. Wood and PVC Restoration MillworkWhen architectural details of your home have been damaged by years of wood decay or water damage, rest assure our company can provide custom milling services to duplicate the architectural woodwork you need. Consult with one of our estimators so they can walk you through the process. Roofing - Asphalt three tab, Architectural, Rubber MembraneWhen it comes to roofing one product brand stands beyond the others. CertainTeed is a leading U.S. manufacturer of low slope and steep slope roofing products for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential roofing and waterproofing applications. CertainTeed has served the roofing industry for 100 years, establishing a solid reputation for quality, reliability, and technical innovation. Now accounting for about 80% of the residential roof surfacing in the United States, asphalt shingles are measured against a variety of standards that evaluate fire and wind resistance, tear strength, and other key performance indicators. For fiber glass shingles, ASTM D3462 is considered the most important. This comprehensive standard covers tear strength, nail-pull resistance and pliability, among other shingle characteristics. We are also capable of installing rubber membrane roofs for areas of no slope or low slope (ie. portico roofs). One of our estimators looks forward to showing you samples and the opportunity to guide you through the process. Porticos - Design/ Build(Slide Show)A portico is a structure designed and built around a front or rear entranceway. The intention is to increase curb appeal and the focal point of your home as well as provide a shelter for you and your guests from harsh weather. It could be as simple as a small overhang or as elaborate as the imagination desires. Fluted or boxed columns, tongue and grove ceilings, curved or boxed railing sections, dentil moldings any many other custom moldings can be added to increase the look of this structure. Custom lighting, such as low voltage lighting, could be added for that unique touch. We would be happy to assist you in the design/build process. Please contact one of our project estimators. Decks - Mahogany, Cedar, Pressure treated, Man made composite (i.e. Treks, CertainTeed)(Slide Show)If your intention is to build a new deck or create an extension off of your existing deck, we can provide you with a complete service from design to finish. When decks were first invented some twenty-five years ago, they were generally constructed of pressure treated lumber with the lifespan of approximately twenty-five years. The quality of the southern yellow pine that was being shipped to the various vendors was not consistently regulated. As a result many structures that were built did not live up to the original life expectancy. The decking materials available today show the quality level we expect. One of our experienced estimators can show you the different appearances depending on your selection as well as the difference in cost. You may choose the new pressure treated stock (which contains copper instead of the previous carcinogens), a combination of hardwoods such as Mahogany, Cedar, Fir, Redwood (pre-sealed with Penofin Oil) or a synthetic material such as Trex, CertainTeed Boardwalk, Rhino Decking (maintenance free products). If concrete footings for your structure need to be installed, Kelly's Property Services will provide a permit, a Contractor's Builder's License and a complete design drawing prior to the commencement of the project for your peace of mind. Railing systems - Wood, Man made composite (i.e. Azek)(Slide Show)When it comes to replacing railing systems you may choose from a variety of wood products. You may want to choose a product that will last considerably longer. Azek corporation has designed a solid core PVC extrusion material. It can be milled and conformed into a straight or curved piece of railing section. The process is somewhat more expensive than a conventional wood product. The benefits are that it will hold paint better than wood, will not absorb moisture, and not be prone to peeling. Due to its plastic composition it does not have the capability of rotting or decaying. Allow four to six weeks for your design to become a reality. We look forward to providing you with this innovative product. |
